Boris Franz Becker is a former German No.1 professional tennis player. He was successful early in his career, winning the first of six major singles titles at the age of 17. His Grand Slam singles titles include three Wimbledons, two Australian Open and one US Open. He has also won three year-end championships, 13 Masters Series titles and a doubles Olympic gold medal. In 1989, he was voted player of the year by ATP and ITF. He was the first male player to feature in seven Wimbledon finals, behind Sampras with Federer. At times Becker struggled with his initial success and popularity, and his personal life was full of events. Since the end of his playing career, he has been involved in many endeavors, including coaching Novak Djokovic for three years and working in the poker industry.
