James Ure is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter and producer. His stage name, Midge, is Jim's phonetic inversion, the smaller form of his real name. Ure enjoyed exceptional success in the 1970s and 1980s in groups such as Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and directed by Ultravox. In 1984, he co-wrote and produced the charity single “Do They Know It's Christmas?”, Which sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second best-selling single in UK chart history. Ure co-hosted Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. He serves as a trustee for the charity and is also an ambassador for the Children's Relief Organization. Ure was the producer and screenwriter of several popular new / new wave synthpop singles in the 1980s, including Visage's "Fade to Gray" and Ultravox's signature songs "Vienna" and "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes. ". He reached the top 10 of his first British solo hits in 1982 with "No Regrets".
