Vicente Fox Quesada is a Mexican businessman and politician who served as the 62nd President of Mexico from December 1, 2000 to November 30, 2006. Campaigning as a Populist On the right, Fox ran and was elected president by ticket of the National Action Party, becoming the first president of the Non-Institutional Revolutionary Party since 1929. He is currently co-chair of Centrist Democrat International, an international organization of center-right political parties. Fox was elected President of Mexico in the 2000 presidential election, an election of historic significance since it became the first elected president of an opposition party since Francisco I's election.
